TO ANAWANGIN (A detailed account )

Summary of Expenses - Anawangin

Day 1                    2,052.00
Day 2                       560.00
total expenses      2,612.00
The trip from Baguio to Olongapo City was  like the Manila – Baguio trip. But because there’s not much passengers, we had the whole seat for ourselves.

It was still wifi, so we had the chance to keep in touch with the world aboard the bus.

From Olongapo City we took a bus bound for Iba, Zambales to get to San Antonio.

Ironically, the trip from Olongapo to San Antonio was not that cozy, we were seated at the very rear part of the bus with all our baggage and it was a standing room. So after roughly two hours going down the bus wasn’t that easy. We arrived San Antonio, Zambales around 4pm.

There were challenges along the way as there was a cable post that fell somewhere in Barangay Barreto in Subic, the driver and the locals had to do some maneuvering in order that the bus could pass by without hitting the cables;  I was quite scared then I thought a wrong move could turn us all into human lechon! Thank God all went well.

Across their Municipal hall there is 7-11, we went and buy some stuff before we rode the trike to Pundakit.

From Brgy. Pundakit, we took an outrigger boat to Anawangin for 30 to 45 minutes.
For boat rental you may contact: 09193910016 (joan perea) or 09193123992 nanay josie gonzales.

In Anawangin, specifically instruct your boatman to take you to Editha's Campsite This is where the beautiful lake is situated. The campsite may also have their own boat rental so include it in your inquiry.

2nd day was island hopping day! At around 9am, after a short walk and picture taking at the lake we were all set to explore the ocean. We went to Capones Island, we didn’t bother to hike to their lighthouse as we were too tired hiking, had enough in Baguio.  We just content ourselves swimming and picture taking. And then we passed by Camara Island, the water was too rough at that time of the day so we didn’t insist to dock, we just passed by it and head right back to pundakit to prepare for home. (The island hopping is part of the 1,500 that we paid for in day 1).

Total Expenses                                            560.00

From Pundakit we took a trike to San antonio again, and alighted at their municipal hall where buses bound for manila would pass by. We couldn't wait for an air conditioned bus so we took the first bus that passed by and head to Olongapo. From Olongapo we took a bus bound for baguio and drop off at Dau terminal. We still have few hours to spare before our flight back to cebu so we went to SM Clark. Remember to haggle with trike drivers in the bus station as they would ask for a super unreasonable price. We were asked to pay 150 by the first trike driver we approached. Luckily, One driver took our offer, 50.00 from the terminal to SM.  From SM clark we were suppose to take a taxi that would take us to the airport. But found none, we were told that they don't have metered taxi but we can hire a rental car for 350. I was so surprised that a city this big and progressive don't have metered taxi. We walked our way to the jeepney terminal at the plaza hoping to find one, or at least commute to the  airport but ended up with a jeepney for hire which we paid for 250.

We arrived at  Mactan International Airport past 10pm  and this is the end of the Baguio - Anawangin journey.
